Bella now :-)
![]() BELLA AT HOME
Bella is doing really well at home and has completely flourished. She is having to wear a big buster collar which she hates with a passion. She cant walk upstairs with it on as it keeps catching on the steps so she has learnt to walk up the stairs backwards!!! This dog is not silly! I will be updating this page with some more pictures soon. Thank you all again for your support (still not enough money raised yet though) xxx VETS BILLS
We still havent raised enough money to pay all of her vets bills. You have all been so kind but please please keep passing this link on as we still have some way to go. Thank you so much xx YAY!!!
Bella has been allowed home today. BIG YAY!!! Her temperature is still high and she is still being pumped fulll of antibiotics and needs constant cleaning but the vets think she will now bounce back in a home environment as she is no longer in a critical state. We are still not sure at this stage whether she will need an op on her boobs but the main thing is, she is well enough to be discharged!!! Good girl xxx GOOD GIRL BELLA XX
Just heard from the vets, Bella has come through the Pyo operation and is bright as a button. She has started eating and seems really well. Her Masitis still needs treating but is going down nicely. What a girl...you dont know how happy I am xxxxxxxxxxxx We still have huge bills to pay though so please keep spreading the word for this amazing little dog xxx 25 NOVEMBER 2009 ***UPDATE***
As I type this, Bella is being operated on. As worrying as it is when an animal has an anaesthetic, it can only be good news as it means she is stable enough now to be operated on and also the swelling has gone down significantly in her mammory glands enabling the vets to cut through. She is only a tiny dog but what a fighter :) KEEP GOING STRONG BELLA XX
Bella seems to have picked up a bit today and the swelling is going down. They will hopefully operate on the Pyo tomorrow. Keep it up sweety xxx AUTHENTICATION
A few people have been questioning the authenticity of this case. I am actually listed in the 2008/2009 edition of the UK Kennel Club's Rescue Pages under E&W Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue alongside Joanna Mason. When the new edition of the book is realeased within the next few weeks, I will be listed under South Coast Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue with Clare Seaman. We still have the support of Joanna Mason and the E&W Sussex and will continue to work alongside one another. I can provide details of the vets as well if you would like to ring them for clarification. Please ring me on 07921 227323 for details. Thanks, Gina x 24 November 2009 ***UPDATE***
Bella cant have her speying operation today because when the vets do it, they need to cut through the mammory tissue and hers is still too swollen. They are going to try and keep it under control with antibiotics and then hopefully when the swelling has gone down (tomorrow with any luck) they will then operate on the Pyo x 23 November 2009 ***UPDATE***
Heard from the vets today and it seems there are more complications. Bella has now been diagnosed as having Pyometra ( serious infection of the womb - again caused by breeding young) as well as the Mastitis. Pyo on its own is life threatening and she now has to have an emergency spey (doggy hysterectomy) Even though this worries me immensely as she is battling two potentially fatal illnesses, I am hoping that as long as she pulls through the op and the Pyo is removed successfully, it will help her to battle the Mastitis quicker as there wont be two lots of infection for her to deal with. Be strong you brave little girl xx |
